I and my husband have transferred residences on several occasions ever since he has taken a job that involves being assigned to different destinations at an average of once every 2 to 3 years. It has been quite difficult for the family since every time it happened, we always found ourselves adjusting to a new social environment. Once being tied up to a regular 9 to 5 job behind the desk, I found myself spending time at home doing freelance.
Fortunately, each and every neighborhood we have spent good 2 or 3 years turned out to be very accommodating to new comers. Each community we had lived in for the past 12 years were well established and made us feel at home. However, being new to each place, we had to practice extra precautionary measures, which is very ideal for us since getting familiar with everything took quite a while. For every single house we have moved into these past few years, we have always made it a point to install home security systems. One can never be sure even if everything seems to be calm and secure. We would not want to get surprised one day that the unexpected had happened, most especially when I stay home most of the time.
