Building a house from scratch can be so frustrating, most especially when it comes to sourcing for the right and the most appropriate materials. It was a good thing that my husband is in the same line of business, which gave us a big advantage over the others who had to rely heavily on contractors, which could cost most of us an arm and a leg. I have to admit though that it was also a bit frustrating for him since most of what he initially required had to be ordered and took a long time to be delivered and time was of the essence because of labor costs at that time.
Nevertheless, all the plans we made, including those minute details, were strictly followed, including the finishing of all rooms on both the second and ground floors. I have been amazed at how much effort it takes just to draw up a plan involving so many technical issues and it was a good thing that my husband had all the patience in the world, considering that he had his own business to run. Just to show how complicated and detailed it was, he had to go through several brands of electrically conductive adhesive just to be able to finalize his purchase list. I always spend time looking at our home and saying to myself that it was well worth all the hard work and passion.
